Good Fare
Part of the fun of any county fair is enjoying a variety of tasty foods. Fairgoers yearning for yummy county fair food – but still wanting to make healthier choices – are finding the Marin County Fair is the place for them!
For the 4th year, cash prizes and certificates of achievement will be awarded to vendors who have gone above and beyond the minimum requirements in creating delicious healthy fare!
This year the two prize categories will be:
- BEST USE of Fruits, Vegetables and/or Whole Grains in Healthier Food Choices
- MOST CREATIVE Booth Signage of Healthy Food Items.
In 2009 all of the Fair’s food vendors will be offering healthy menu options – no trans fats, more items with whole grains, fresh fruit and veggies - and “Going Green” by using biodegradable food containers.
Look for the colorful signage in front of each vendor’s stand. Please take a moment to let your favorite vendors know that you appreciate all the efforts they are making to provide healthier choices at the Fair AND to promote the healthy choices on their menus.
